Those Were The Creative Collaborative Years

We ran into this blog post from uber talented designer Martin Colyer (back on Jan 2012) on his blog Adventures in Commissioning. We couldn't resist linking to it as it is such a great story and an inside to what the "good old days" looked like. The post, which you can find here, talks about his collaboration with Geof Kern to illustrate 4 covers for the Sunday Times Magazine. What is interesting to read is how Martin, concerned with timing issues, gave Geof creative control that turned to 4 spectacular covers which everyone loved. Tony Chambers, of Wallpaper, loved them so much, he kept a copy (or multiples) of each cover for many years and sent pictures to Martin as proof (above).

We really enjoyed reading this post as well as the rest of the blog, where Martin gets to the nitty gritty of past projects and the artists that inspire him.
